Clans participating in the 2012 Celtic Festival include the following:

Participating Clans are eligible to receive weekend admission and camping for up to four clan members, contingent upon their exhibition tent being staffed 100% of the time during opening hours.

 

Our 2012 Sherwood Celtic Music Festival will include the following Clan-led ceremony:

KIRKIN OF THE TARTAN
Maid Marian’s Chapel – 10:30am Sunday
 
A.   Welcoming and Introduction to the “Kirkin of the Tartan” Service
B.   Roll Call of the Clans
a.      The Clan representatives with their Clan flag/banner gather outside the church
b.     When ready the clans enter one by one announcing their clan name at the doorway of the church
c.      Clan representatives take their place in front of the sanctuary/stage facing the people (others take place in seats)
C.   Prayer Over the Tartans
D.  Piper Plays Amazing Grace
E.    Flowers of the Forest – Remembrance of the Dead
a.      Clan members submit names of deceased members who have passed away since the during the last year to minister prior to the service
i.      These are read by him at this time  OR
ii.      A representative of each clan reads the names of their deceased
b.     Piper plays Flowers of the Forest  while the names of deceased clan members are spoken
i.      If piper is unable to play then a period of silence is observed
F.    Blessing
G.   Dismissal – Clan representative with their Clan flag/banner process out of the chapel area as Scotland the Brave is played by the piper
