Gatherings (June, July, September)

Gatherings throughout the year are a Sherwood tradition dating back to 2008, when the land was first purchased. These community-building events are open to the public, they're free of charge, and they are a great way to get to know the faire even better.

The format of Gatherings has evolved over the years, but in general one can expect the following:

• The site will open at noon on Friday and close at noon on Sunday
• Friday nights have at times featured entertainment at Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem Pub or out in the patron campground. Check the conversations happening in the Facebook event post as we draw closer to the event to see where the action is.
• Saturday mornings, volunteers help around the faire site with tasks such as touching up paint, trimming trees, tending gardens, etc., with a pizza lunch served that afternoon to those who helped
• Saturday evenings typically feature a fire show at the Seven Sisters
• Both Friday and Saturday nights we offer free beverages and great opportunities for you to get to know our community better!
  
• Although these events are free and there is nothing available to purchase, we encourage you to bring a small amount of cash to tip the performers and bartenders

Hynafol Grand Gathering (November)

This is a five-day LARP (Live Action Role Play) that is produced by a third party company that rents the Sherwood grounds as its venue.  Over the years the Hynafol and Sherwood communities have blended quite nicely. If you are up for some roleplaying, battles, adventuring and questing, this event is for you! Ticket purchase and advance registration is required. Learn more

Celtic Gathering (December)

This event is a three-day celebration of Celtic music and culture. This event includes a cover charge and camping fees. It has its own section on our website.  Learn more

Work Weekend & Job Fair (January)

The Work-Weekend & Job Fair event has a dual purpose:

• To allow Clan Campers and Friends of Faire to have extra time to work on their campsites before we open
• To give people who wish to work at the Faire that coming season a chance to meet potential employers

FOF Move-In Weekend (February)

FOF Move-In Weekend, which happens in February, is open only to Friends of Faire who have purchased their membership a week in advance of the event. In the case of 2025, the deadline is Jan 31, 2025.
